Productivity / cost benefits of extruded asphalt kerb
The extruded asphalt kerbing process is such that vast quantities of asphalt kerb can be laid in a very short working window without any drop in product quality.

Material is brought directly to site and the extruded asphalt kerbing machine can lay in excess of 8 tonnes an hour.

  • Initial installation costs are extremely competitive with a basic kerb costing around 25% of the cost of a standard precast kerb.

  • Productivity is unsurpassed in any machine laid drainage system. Typically 350 linear metres of kerb per hour are extruded and, where lengths permit, a single gang can construct over 3,500 metres in a 10 hour working window.

  • Quality control is largely regulated by automated circuitry within the sophisticated asphalt kerbing machine.

Durability benefits of extruded asphalt kerb
The durability of the kerb it's self is a great benefit of extruded asphalt kerb. Once extruded the kerb will remain stuck to the surface to which it is laid for over 25 years.

When the kerb material has hardened it can sustain a high pressure from impact by vehicles.

  • Extruded asphalt kerb formed by Extrudakerb’s unique construction process will remain bonded to the surface on which it is laid well beyond the design life of the surface itself. Such claims are born out on the road network.Frequently, the road surface is removed and re-laid across the pavement adjacent to the kerb with the kerb untouched.
  • Once laid the kerb material hardens quickly and becomes extremely resilient to deformation within 12 hours.

Adaptability benefits of extruded asphalt kerb
The extruded asphalt kerbing machine is just as effective doing tight radius work as it is doing straight lenghts of extruded asphalt kerb. Combine this with the large amounts of available kerb profiles the applications of this kerb are countless. As well as Major Roads; Car parks, Cycle ways, Water retention areas have all benefited from the adaptability of the extruded asphalt kerbing process.

  • Over 90 different profile shapes available to accommodate all requirements.

  • Bespoke mould profiles can be fabricated on request.

  • The guidance system and flexibility of the extrusion machine allow for extremely accurate kerb alignment whether straight or around a tight radius.  Radii as small as 1 metre can be successfully accommodated allowing the simple construction of islands and road mouths.

Site Based benefits of extruded asphalt kerb
Site based benefits means the benefits contractors gain from working with the team at Extrudakerb. Our crew is completely self contained. All Method Statements, Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, Mix Designs are created for each contract and forwarded in advance of our arrival on site.

  • A minimal working environment is required.  Normal operation requires on a standard 2-lane closure.  Restricted width working is available within a single lane closure.

  • From our specialised crew arriving on site the kerb laying process can commence within 15 minutes. This, combined with our productivity this means large quantities can be obtained in a small working window.
  • Construction is entirely free from manual handling, fully automated and not weather dependent.

  • Preparation and setting out is simple and effective requiring little third party input.
